In 1981, a camp family lived in two rooms of the Staff Lodge. By the summer of 1982 the duplex was completed. There were two bedrooms on each side and a laundry/utility room outside the back door.
Duplex Remodeling
Master suites were added a few years later. There were two closets, one had (has) laundry hookups.
Carports were added (early 1990s).
Back porches were added, and later closed in (1999).
In 2023 the duplexes underwent major modernization.
Original On-Site Housing
The first camp family (Ted and Karen Thisse) lived in an RV located about where the photographer is standing in the top picture.
There is a concrete pad in front of the existing chapel. It appears to be visible in the photo. Notice the citrus trees that surround the trailer.
That is Beth in the foreground.
The 1985 Map in Site Maps shows this location as “Speaker” where an RV was used for several summers.
