Docks

The original dock (pictured here) was made from telephone poles. One corner rested on a live Cypress tree. Several original camp volunteers worked as pole climbers and were able to get the poles donated.

Hurricane Damage

Both the boat dock and ski dock were destroyed in a series of hurricanes in 2004 (Frances and Jeanne).

New Dock Construction

The new dock added an observation deck, and both docks were extended further into the lake into deeper water.

The new ski dock extends beyond the grass line an added “L” shape allows the ski boat to safely transfer riders.

The boat dock fixed a problem created with seasonal droughts changes in the lake level by SJRWMD that made it too shallow for the boats to enter the slips.

The ability to add an observation deck has been a blessing and helpful for lake supervision of boats and canoes.
